There's always something new to see at the Museum of the Rockies, Montana State University - Bozeman. You'll travel through 4 billion years of Earth's history beginning in the geology hall, Landforms/Lifeforms. Your next stop is One Day 80 Million Years Ago, a recreation of the dinosaur nesting colonies discovered by Jack Horner, the Museum's Curator of Paleontology. Travel on through exhibits about Montana's Native Americans and the state's recent history. And don't miss the world-class Taylor Planetarium for a new perspective on Montana's Big Sky. During the summer, visit a living history farm and see what life was like a century ago on a Montana homestead. And each summer, the Museum features a new exhibit. West of Wonder: The Natural History of Lewis & Clark. Often thought of as America's great adventure story, the Lewis and Clark Expedition should also be thought of as America's first great scientific endeavor. As we commemorate this great exploration, we also celebrate - in this exhibit - a scientific achievement that represents the epitome of Enlightenment Science.

Perfect activity when you don’t have a lot of time in Bozeman! This is a beautiful museum that features a lot of dinosaurs, dinosaur interactions and information. If you like BIG dinosaur skeletons, this is your place. There is also a very comfortable small planetarium that is a perfect place to relax after touring the museum with a variety of good shows and a very nominal price. Please DON’T forget the period house that is located outside! It is a real walk back in time! There is a very nice sized gift shop and a small cafe there as well.

Museum of the Rockies is such a cool place to explore! If you’re into dinosaur bones, this is the place to be. Their exhibits are some of the most impressive and well-maintained I’ve ever seen. I also love that they feature rotating exhibits — about a year ago, I caught the Marvel Comics one, and it was amazing! Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for things to do in Bozeman.

After years of wanting to see this, we finally did. The museum is great for families to visit with various interactive exhibits for kids. I would say 90% of the museum pertains to dinosaur and other fossils but also has information and artifacts from the area in general. There is a homesteaders house you get to go through as part of the admission.

Very informative and interesting place. The planetarium was equally informative and well worth the time to watch and learn. We watched the "Montana Skies" presentation that was all about the stars and galaxies and constellations we can see here in Montana. I would highly recommend this place if in the area. Had many, many displays of dinosaur bones, skeletons and displays of many interesting animals that have been found throughout different parts of the state. The two or three life size T-Rex skeletons were amazing. The triceratops displays were equally awesome. Much more than I thought this place would be, so glad we took the time to visit. Great for the kids as well!

Amazing museum for dinosaurs’ lovers! We had the best time learning so much, watching and exploring through real skeletons, sculptures, photos, movies etc. Highly recommended! The planetarium was also nice but we found it hard for the kids to sit 25 minutes watching the movie.
