The Lewis & Clark Motel of Three Forks and our Second Location, The Lewis & Clark Motel of Bozeman, are with us today all because of one man’s desire to build. William J. “Bill” Sebena is the man behind the architecture, design, and construction of both properties. He is and always will be the heart and soul of the Lewis & Clark Motels. We are proudly Independently owned and operated – designed with you in mind – a Three Forks tradition and a wonderfully charming and unique destination. We have over 50 years of history ensuring your stay with us to be a memorable one, all the while mastering the art of hospitality and extending five-star exceptional service.
The Lewis & Clark Motel of Three Forks was the first of the two and opened in 1964. Celebrating over 50 years in hospitality and continuing to serve the community with a nice homey place to get a good night’s rest. Not many folks know that the main hotel portion has tremendous history. The main building was previously part of the Old Milwaukee Railroad depot located on the North end of Main Street. It was built shortly after 1908 which would make it over a Century old! Bill transported the main building down Main Street back in 1964 by way of railroad ties! He did the renovations necessary on the interior to turn it into a business that would be a prominent part of the community for many years to come. To this day we continue the tradition of running the Motel as a time-honored “Mom & Pop” Motel similar to those found on Historic Route 66.

"We had a lovely stay here a few weeks back. We were a bit hesitant to book since it’s on a busy street, but it was very quiet in the rooms and the lobby area. We enjoyed that it was so close to town and also the great co-op next to it. Lisa, who runs the place was incredible. Our two boys, ages 12 and 8, asked to go back in the summer so that we can experience Bozeman in the summer and we plan to stay here again. Lisa offers the best continental breakfast with homemade pastries that we all enjoyed! Their lobby area is spectacular and the pool makes a worlds difference at the end of a busy day or to kick off the morning with a nice swim."

Lisa greeted us so warmly from the get-go and made us feel at home immediately. 2026 is their 50th anniversary and Lisa put together in the lobby an incredible visual history of place that her father, Bill, built and it was so fun to learn about everything he did. As architects, we were fascinated and thoroughly impressed that Bill was able to design and build this incredible hotel all on his own! You can tell that this hotel is full of history and personal connection the moment you step in. It was a pleasure staying here!"
